A NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD IN THE HEART OF ENFIELD

NEAT Developments, and BlackRock Real Asset UK Property Team, secured a Resolution to Grant  planning consent from Enfield Council for the redevelopment of Colosseum Retail Park. The site is currently occupied by big box retailers including B&Q and Dunelm. Expected to be a catalyst for further investment, it is the first trading park on this stretch of the A10 to be brought forward for major regeneration.

Located between the A10 and Southbury Station, the 10-acre site will create a diverse new neighbourhood supporting links between east and west Enfield. The proposals will bring up to 1,800 homes , a crèche, GP surgery, commercial space and Workhub along with the equivalent of 65 tennis courts of well-planned open space. The development is anticipated to take place in phases, starting in 2022.

Since consultation began in Summer 2018, we have held four public exhibitions to display our plans for the development site, which includes the B&Q, Dunelm, Buzz Bingo, and KFC in Enfield. We would like to thank everyone who has come to our consultation sessions and given their feedback. You can view the approved plans on the Council’s website here.

In addition to new housing and homes, of which 35% will be affordable, the Enfield development is expected to support over 325 jobs on site once fully operational, together with 155 jobs during the construction process. A significant amount of new public realm and open green space for pedestrians will also be created, including two new parks, equivalent to the size of 65 tennis courts, and amounting to over a third of the site area.

We have actively sought to engage and consult with the local community, with hundreds of residents attending public consultation events held between November 2018 and July 2019. The feedback provided by the local community has helped to shape the designs and drive them forward to this proposal. We continue to seek information and opinions from the local community about the Enfield development site, which includes the existing B&Q, Dunelm and Gala Bingo to ensure that we take these thoughts into account.
